'Friendship solves any problem,' Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina says during India visit

 

Prime Minister Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will meet today to discuss trade, connectivity, and defence. India and Bangladesh are likely to sign pacts on water sharing on the Kushiyara river, training and IT cooperation in railways, science, space, and media cooperation.


As Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina visited India on Tuesday, she expressed her gratitude to the country for its continued cooperation since the Liberation War.



 It's always a pleasure for me to visit India, especially since we always remember the contribution India made during the Liberation War. relationship, we cooperate with each other,” she told reporters.

On Tuesday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accorded the ceremonial Guard of Honour to Bangladesh's counterpart at Rashtrapati Bhavan. 

“Friendship is the key to solving any problem,” she said about her upcoming talks with PM Modi. 

The two Prime Ministers will discuss trade, connectivity, and defence issues today. 

There are likely to be water-sharing agreements between India and Bangladesh on the Kushiyara river, railway training and IT cooperation, and science, space, and media cooperation.



After her arrival, Sheikh Hasina met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and discussed bilateral issues. 

“Delighted to call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh this evening. 

'Our close neighbourly partnership is reflected in the warmth and frequency of our leadership level contacts,' Jaishankar tweeted after the meeting. 

Thursday, Hasina will travel to Ajmer to visit Moinuddin Chishti's grave. 

As part of her visit, Hasina will also meet President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.

Mumbai security lapse results in arrest of impostor during visit by Amit Shah
