58-year-old Raju Srivastava, who made the world laugh with his comedy, died on Wednesday morning, 21 September, after fighting for his life for 42 days at AIIMS, Delhi. 

Raju Srivastava was admitted to AIIMS on August 10 following a cardiac arrest. He was in a coma since then and was on a ventilator in the intensive care unit. Although he was able to move his body several times, he could not wake up. 
Raju Srivastava's death has created sorrow among the industry and his fans. His family is in mourning. Everyone was hoping that one day Raju Srivastava would wake up, regain consciousness and make everyone laugh like a Gajodhar again. 

The doctors told the family that oxygen isn't reaching their brains on Wednesday, but this couldn't happen.

The news of Raju Srivastav's death has shocked everyone since it was said by the family that his health was improving. However, the doctors declared him brain dead as well. Additionally, he had a high fever and was also suspected of having an infection. 

After 15 days, doctors reported that he had twisted one leg, but he did not regain consciousness and his brain was not responding. A CT scan of his head revealed swelling in a part of his brain. 

During Raju's angioplasty at AIIMS, a large part of his heart was found to be 100% blocked. The family of Raju includes his wife Shikha, daughter Antara, son Ayushmann, elder brother CP Srivastava, younger brother Deepu Srivastava, nephew Mayank, and Mridul. His entire family lives in Delhi alone.



The brain is not getting enough oxygen


The main reason for the death of Raju Srivastava was that the oxygen supply was only going to his brain. He was under the supervision of the most eminent doctors at AIIMS. Despite continuous manual oxygen supply, doctors were expecting the brain cells to start functioning on their own at some point. However, this did not happen.

The heart of Raju Srivastava also had a problem.

It was also reported that Raju Srivastava was moving in some parts of his body and that constant updates about his health were provided. As of recently, it has been reported on behalf of his manager that doctors have told him he can come to his senses within a week, but this has not been proven true. His family was praying every day during this time. 
The doctors told his family on Wednesday that along with being brain dead, his heart was also not working.

The head of Raju Srivastava had a vein

On 10th August, Raju Srivastava had an attack and fainted while working out on the treadmill in the hotel. He was rushed to AIIMS, Delhi, where he was immediately admitted. 

As a result of his hospitalization, his brain had stopped functioning. During treatment, doctors placed two stents. On August 13, an MRI showed that a vein in Raju Srivastava's head was inaccessible.
